Vice President – Investor Relations

Griffin Partners (“Griffin”) is a vertically integrated real estate investment fund manager that develops, acquires, and manages value-added and core-plus industrial and office buildings in ten targeted markets in the United States. Griffin selected these markets based on its historical and current expertise in analyzing and owning assets within them, the demographics each city possesses, and the Firm’s confidence that these markets provide the most significant potential for growth and increased relative returns based on Griffin’s various investment theses. The ten markets are in the Mountain States and Southwest (Salt Lake, Denver, and Phoenix), Texas (Houston (GP’s headquarters), Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio), and the Central-East (Nashville, Charlotte, and Raleigh).

Griffin adopted the “GP Fund” investment strategy long before this type of vehicle became in vogue. While each fund wholly owns certain assets, the equity raised for a given fund is predominantly used as Sponsor’s equity in the single-asset joint ventures formed to make each investment. A fund affiliate acts as the Manager, and its Members share in the promotional (or “carried”) interest earned upon sale, thereby achieving superior returns as compared to the partner (or partners) chosen to invest alongside Griffin in each acquisition. Over Griffin’s 40-year history, the Company has acquired, developed, or managed 97 investments totaling 14.3 million SF with an aggregate value of over $2.1 billion.

Griffin seeks a Vice President/Investor Relations and Fund Management to service and expand its historical investor base, increase the size of its fund offerings, enable the Firm to make more significant investments with discretion, and meaningfully increase its assets under management. The successful candidate will preferably be housed in Griffin’s Houston headquarters and report directly to the CEO, however well-suited candidates working remotely will also be considered. Additionally, to effectively perform its duties, the VP will actively interface with those in the Capital Markets, Asset Management, Development, and Financial Reporting departments.

The highest consideration will be given to those candidates with (i) at least ten years of work experience, (ii) tenure at a real estate fund manager, REIT, or a real estate or private equity investment firm, and (iii) a foundation in a quantitative-focused analytical role. A required prerequisite is experience in direct sales with a proven track record. Griffin will provide an environment to gain valuable, first-hand experience in investor relations and fund management as a client-facing professional. The VP will also gain expertise in property/fund level analysis and reporting, valuation, and operations disciplines to succeed in its position.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • As the primary inception point for exposure to Grifin, in time, they are expected to become the “face” of the Firm for prospective investors, their advisors, counterparts in the industry, and those requiring information on the Firm;
  • Formation and implementation of a marketing plan specifically designed to expose Griffin to a broad-based universe of those intended to further the Company’s interests and convert relevant relationships into investors;

  • Formulate a marketing budget for print advertising, advertorials, and other avenues to expose the Firm to those constituents unaware of Griffin and its mandates;
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks to support the Investor Relations & Fund Management division; and
